DC, Commissioner of Police visit NRC Seva Kendras

GUWAHATI, July 24 - Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal and Commissioner of Police (Guwahati) HC Nath today visited some NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs) in the city and held community level meetings with the public.

The visit comes just days before the final draft of the NRC is scheduled to be published.

The officials asked the people not to panic if someone�s name is not included in the draft NRC and added that people would get adequate opportunities to make claims for inclusion of their names in the updated document in case those are missing in the draft.

The DC and the Commissioner of Police were accompanied by senior officials of the district administration.

They first addressed a meeting at Pandu Boripara and later visited Garigaon, Gotanagar and Birubari.

They also visited the NSKs at Ganeshpara and Udalbakra. They interacted with officials of the NSKs and took stock of the arrangements made for publication of the complete draft. Mittal and Nath assured the NRC staff of security at the NSKs.
