Darrang College teacher brings laurels

TEZPUR, Oct 22 - Dr Phatik Tamuli, a dedicated and committed teacher in Darrang College here has been honoured with Indian National Science Academy Teacher Award for his contribution towards motivating the student community with scientific thought.

The award is conferred on one who dedicates himself for taking forward the students in the line of science and technology since 2012 by Indian National Science Academy.

The award carries a citation, cash money of Rs 50, 000, memento, another amount of Rs 20,000 for purchasing books. Dr Tamuli is one among the 14 nationally selected teachers for the prestigious award for the session 2020. HoD in the department of Darrang College and a brilliant personality with international repute, Dr Tamuli did his post-graduation in Botany from Gauhati University and completed his PhD from the institute of North-East Science and Technology, Jorhat. The noted academician had also visited celebrated universities abroad including New South Wales University, Sydney for his exclusive studies. He has been congratulated for his achievement by all fronts here.
