Dalai Lama�s lecture in city on Feb 2

GUWAHATI, Jan 18 � Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will deliver the first LBS Founders� Commemorative Lecture in the city on February 2.

The lecture, on �A Human Approach to Peace and the Individual�, would be held at the Nehru Stadium.

The spiritual leader would arrive in the city on the morning of February 1 and then take part at an �Inter-Faith Conclave on Peace and Religious Harmony� at 1.30 pm on that day at the Rabindra Bhawan.

�This conclave will be represented by religious leaders and scholars from all the predominant faiths in Assam,� LBS Foundation advisory panel member Jatin Hazarika told media persons on Friday.

The conclave will also be addressed by Swamy Sumanasunanda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission of Cherrapunjee, Bimalankur Mahathera of Jorhat Bauddha Vihar, Satradhikar of Natun Kamalabari Satra in Majuli Narayan Chandra Goswami, Archbishop Emeritus of Guwahati Diocese Reverend Thomas Menamparampil and former Principal of Assam Medical College Dr Taufiqur Rahman Barbara, among others.

On February 2, the public lecture would be held at Nehru Stadium at 10 am.

Hazarika said that complimentary invitation cards for the public lecture can be collected from the Lawyers� Book Stall at Panbazar, Ace Audio Junction at GS Road, Pizzazz at RG Barua Road and Don Bosco Alumni Office at Panbazar free of cost.

Besides, seating arrangements have also been made at galleries for those without cards. The Dalai Lama would leave for Shillong on February 3 and then return to Dharmashala on February 6.
