Dainik Asam ex-scribe passes away

BARPETA, May 9 - Bhupen Das, a former correspondent of Dainik Asam from Howli, retired Inspector of Schools, and social worker passed away at a nursing home in Guwahati on Friday. He was 65.

He served Dainik Asam for a few years as its correspondent from Howli in Barpeta district while working as a professor in Barnagar College at Sarbhog.

Later, he joined as an Inspector of Schools.

He also published two newspapers and compiled a few books.

A good orator and actor, Das is survived by his wife and three daughters.
