Daimary inaugurates two water supply schemes

GORESWAR, July 8 - State Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Rihon Daimary inaugurated two mini water supply schemes yesterday under Tamulpur subdivision, aimed at providing pure drinking water to the masses.

In this connection, an inaugural meeting was held at Chechapani which was anchored by Billwa Mangal Roy, Assistant Executive Engineer of Tamulpur subdivision (PHE) and the purpose of the meeting was explained by Mrinal Saharia, Executive Engineer of Baksa Division (PHE).

Bijit Gwara Narzary, MCLA of Darrangajuli BTC constituency graced the occasion and said that the pure drinking water scarcity of the Chechapani chowk area would be solved with the commissioning of the plant. Emanuel Mushahary, MLA of Tamulpur LAC, who was present in the meeting claimed that these mini water supply schemes would immensely benefit the poor people. He also expressed the hope that many more water supply schemes would come up in the areas in the days to come which would solve the perennial water scarcity problem in Baksa.

Lwmsraw Daimary, Executive Member of the BTC while speaking on the occasion appealed to the people to properly utilise drinking water. He informed that several toilets were constructed in Baksa district to make the district Open Defecation Free. He also said that many households were left out in the PIP during 2012. Inaugurating the Chechapani Mini water supply scheme, Rihon Daimary, explained the benefits of pure drinking water. �Now, it is the duty of the people to maintain the water supply schemes properly,� he said.

He also directed the officials to ensure proper implementation of ongoing projects.

Later, the minister visited Darrangamela area and inaugurated Foreigner Check post Mini water Supply scheme in the presence of dignitaries.
