Daimary in Rangapara police custody

TEZPUR, May 29 � NDFB chief Ranjan Daimary has been sent to three days� police custody of Rangapara PS against the case No.140/09. He was produced at the Tezpur court today. The court of first class judicial magistrate, Tezpur, ordered the three-day remand for him.

Earlier, he was produced in sub divisional judicial magistrate court at Biswanath Chariali after expiry of three days police remand in Biswanath PS The SDJM court referred him to Tezpur court as the Rangapara police produced the production warrant.

Though Rangapara police sought ten days police remand of Ranjan Daimary against case number 140/09, after hearing defence councils and public prosecutor the court ordered three days custody, said Manas Sarania, defence counsel of Ranjan Daimary.

Ranjan Daimary was taken to custody by the police regarding the incident in which Col SM Perumal and his driver NK Ashini Kumar died on the spot at 11 mile near Bhalupung on July 13 2009 at 5.10 am in a bomb blast.

Advocate Manas Sarania said a section of media has published wrong report on confession of Ranjan Daimary.

According to Sarania, his client has not confessed anything to the police in custody at Biswanath Chariali.
