BONGAIGAON, June 23 - District and Sessions Judge Indira Barman awarded life sentence along with a fine of Rs 5,000 to Photik Ali (35), who murdered his wife Jamphul Bibi (32) at his rented house at Bhawlaguri in New Bongaigaon in 2014.
Default in paying the fine amount will invite an additional imprisonment of 3 months. Public Prosecutor Rajesh Kumar Barman represented the victim against the accused Photik, who is a daily wage earner and a resident of Balapara in Jogighopa area of the district.
