GUWAHATI, Jan 23 � Pune based NGO Sarhad and Swanand Adventures will be organising a cycle rally called �Call of the Brahmaputra� from Imphal from March 13. Sarhad works for bringing orphans, widows and victims of violence in the border regions of India into dialogue with the rest of the country and thereby giving them a strong support and alleviating their feeling of alienation.
The rally will cover four States in the first phase and go to the remaining three States in the next phase. The participants will communicate with the students, eminent people, thinkers in the region during the rally.
Alaka Sarma, an eminent social worker in Northeast India will coordinate the rally. Prashant Talnikar, director of Sarhad and Sanjiv Shall of Swanand Adventures informed in a press conference today at Imphal Press Club.
