JORHAT, May 16 - The Majuli district administration has ordered closure of all Customer Service Points (CSPs) of banks as part of the efforts undertaken to prevent outbreak of novel coronavirus in the Brahmaputra island.
An order passed by Majuli Deputy Commissioner Bikram Kairi today stated that �in view of the gradual spread of the Covid-19 virus in the State and the consequent threat posed by its potential outbreak, and to ensure all possible preventive measures to stop the virus from spreading as well as protection and safeguarding public health in the island district,� all bank CSPs in Majuli are directed to close down.
The order further stated that CSPs of the banks were directed to provide the banking services door-to-door by maintaining social distancing and adopting all necessary precautionary measures under Assam Covid-19 rules to prevent spread of the virus.
The order stated the direction comes into force with immediate effect and will be in force until further orders in this regard. Any violation of the same will be dealt with firmly under the relevant laws and also under Section 188 of the IPC, the order mentioned.
