NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Sept 29 - The name of Sri Sri Madhavadeva, the greatest disciple of Srimanta Sankaradeva, who created the Naam Ghosha, Bhakti Ratnawali, Rajasuya Kavya, Naam Malika, Guru Bhatima and various borgeets, would be established globally. This was stated by Dr Mukunda Rajbanshi, the president of Sri Sri Madhavdev Pratibha Vikash Kendra, North Lakhimpur and its secretary Padmeswar Chutia in a press release issued here recently.
A two-day cultural programme is being organised here on October 3 and 4 to promote and expand the works of Sri Sri Madhavadeva in North Lakhimpur by the Sri Sri Madhavdev Pratibha Vikash Kendra, the release said. The two-day event would be held at the auditorium of District Library, North Lakhimpur. A meeting was held for that occasion at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lakhimpur on Tuesday last where various aspects and ways to observe the cultural programme were discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Debeswar Malakar said that Sri Sri Madhavadeva should be the identity of Lakhimpur district and asked everyone to make the programme a grand succsess with mass participation.
The president of the Kendra, Dr Mukunda Rajbangshi, said that the initiative was a non-religious one and should be pursued academically and intellectually. The two-day event will see cultural programmes like the performance of Sri Sri Madhavadeva�s greatest creation Arjun Bhanjan and Chordhora and recitation of Naam Ghosha and borgeet. The event will be attended by Narayan Chandra Goswami, Satradhikaar, Natun Kamalabari Satra and renowned researcher Prabhat Chandra Das. All the four MLAs of Lakhimpur, including minister Naba Kumar Doley, would attend the function.
