Crucial meet on Covid vaccination

Mirza, Jan 5: The Kamrup district administration organised a meeting on Covid-19 vaccination in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup, on Monday to discuss various issues relating to the proposed vaccination programme.

The meeting was chaired by Kamrup DC Kailash Kartik N. Dr Arup Deka, a senior doctor who gave an outline of the vaccination drive, said that Covid vaccines, in the first phase, would be given to frontline workers like doctors, nurses, health workers, ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers. In the second phase, police personnel, paramilitary personnel and municipality employees will be covered under the vaccination drive. There will be Covid vaccination centres and five health workers will be engaged to cover each centre.

Senior Medical Officer Dr Sanjeev Ranjan Rajkhowa said that 800 personnel have already registered their names for their vaccination.
