Crucial Bodo Accord review meet today

KOKRAJHAR, June 18 � The State Government has decided to hold the Bodoland Acord-2003 review meeting tomorrow to discuss as many as 19 matters, informed BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary here on Thursday.

Talking to mediapersons he further said that even after the completion of the first five years term of BTC government the concerned clauses of Bodo Accord specially related to matters of transfer of relief and rehabilitation department, withdrawal of cases against activists of Bodoland movement, ST status of Bodos in Karbi Anglong and NC Hills, enhencement of non-plan grants in aid to BTC, inclusion of 95 additional villages in BTC area, reopening Rupshi Airport,reinclusion of Orang National Park, approval of Laws and Rules passed by BTC etc have not been considered by the government for implementation.

At the same time he stated that the review meeting is crucial for a concrete decision on these aspects.

Mohilary also revealed that he desired that the Government initiate talks with NDFB on similar lines as is with the ULFA and other militant outfits of Assam while welcoming the steps towards holding talks with ULFA leaders.
