Crucial ACA meet held

GUWAHATI, Sept 9 � The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) in its governing body meeting held here yesterday with Niloy Dutta in the chair, took some crucial decisions keeping in view the recommendations made by the ACA technical advisory committee.

Physical and clinical medical examination by a panel of doctors would be mandatory for the players of the age-group tournaments.

The meeting decided to introduce the One-day Challenger Trophy consisting of three teams with a mixture of senior, U-23 and U-19 players in every team. The Nurul Amin Trophy in one-day format will be introduced with eight quarter-finalist teams of Elite Group and two finalist teams of Plate Group senior inter-district.

The members decided that all the ACA registered players be under the control and supervision of Assam Cricket Academy and District Cricket Academy during the off-season.

Regarding registration of players in different domestic tournaments of ACA is concerned it was decided players must have the relevant documents (voters ID card).

For players of the junior group, voter�s identity card of the parents will be accepted. In the junior tournaments, no outstation players shall be allowed to participate. For the senior tournaments, the registration rules laid down by BCCI will be followed.

The meeting also set up a new selection panel for the senior and junior tournaments. Senior � Naren Sabhapandit, Satya Gopal Chakravorty, Raju Phukan, Mukut Das. Junior �Preetom Konwar, Kamakhya Saikia, Bhaben Talukdar, Riazul Haque, informed ACA secretary Bikash Baruah in a release.
