GUWAHATI, March 2 - The Group Centre, CRPF, situated in 9th Mile area here, observed its 45th Raising Day today in a solemn manner in the wake of the recent Pulwama suicide attack.
In the morning, a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme was organised in and around the Group Centre campus, in which CRPF officers and jawans took part.
As a mark of honour to the CRPF martyrs in the Pulwama attack, a floral wreath-laying ceremony and two-minute silence was observed at the Shaheed Smarak.
Taking the salute, CRPF North Eastern Sector IGP Prakash D, who was the chief guest on the occasion, congratulated the officers and jawans and spoke about the glorious legacy and rules and importance of the Group Centre. He also recalled the sacrifice of the 40 CRPF soldiers at Pulwama. JPK Ray, DIG, Range Guwahati; UM Baishya, Commandant, GC, Guwahati, were also present on the occasion.
