BARPETA, Nov 29 - The 10th Battalion of the Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) commemorated martyr Diganta Nayak at his native village Kalbari near Bhabanipur in Barpeta district on November 27. A special health check-up cum treatment camp was organised at Kalbari where a large number of people including parents and family members of the martyr were treated. The camp was organised as part of the Civic Action Programme of the Central paramilitary force.
NK Bharadwaj, DIG Bongaigaon, SN Balai, Commandant, 10th Battalion CRPF and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion. It is expected that such a programme will help in building a cordial police-public relation and earn goodwill for the CRPF.
It may be mentioned here that Diganta Nayak, a constable GD 168 B of the CRPF, who hailed from Kalbari in Barpeta district, lost his life in an attack by Naxalites on November 27 last. People of the area have thanked the officers of the forces for taking special initiative to remember the brave soul.
