CRPF DG meets families of martyred personnel

GUWAHATI, May 7 - CRPF Director General Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and president of the CRPF Wives Welfare Association (CWWA) Dr Manu Bhatnagar visited the paramilitary force�s Group Centre at Amerigog in the city on Tuesday.

The Director General and Dr Bhatnagar met Sanmati Basumatari, wife of late Maneswar Basumatary, a CRPF personnel who was martyred in the Pulwama attack, and Ful Kumari Devi, mother of Biswajit Chauhan who died in an attack in Jharkhand on April 15.

The martyrs� families expressed satisfaction at the respect and assistance being extended by the government and the CRPF, a statement said. The Director General and his wife assured both the families of all help in future.

The Director General of CRPF also reviewed security and administrative issues.

As president of the CWWA, Dr Manu Bhatnagar also witnessed the activities undertaken at the Regional CWWA by wives of the personnel deployed across the North East. The CWWA president also announced funds for installation of 500 litres per hour (LPH) RO system for the families residing in the campus.

A cultural programme was organised, during which students of Kendriya Vidyalaya CRPF, Amerigog and tiny tots of Montessori School were presented trophies, hampers and gifts.
