CRPF conducts civic action programme

DOOMDOOMA, June 19 - The 186 battalion of CRPF under its civic action programme distributed water filters among the villagers of Kumari Khamti, Kumari Adivasi and Kumari Kachari villages under Mahadevpur Police Station of Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh on June 12.

The Commandant of the battalion Anil Minj, Assistant Commandant Thomas Varghese, Company Commander Chandreswar Prasad, Subedar Major Babu Lal, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Namsai district, HN Dubey and the gaonburhas of the local villages were present on the occasion.

A free health check-up camp was also organised on the occasion where 150 patients were examined and free medicines distributed. The camp was conducted by a team of doctors under the guidance of Dr L Pitri.

Army recruitment: Three youths hailing from remote areas of Saikhowa Mauza in Tinsukia district have been selected for recruitment in the Indian Army.

The 7th Battalion of Madras Regiment of Indian Army stationed at Rupai Siding near here selected a total number of 30 youths from various remote places of Tinsukia district for recruitment in the Army.

The selected youths were imparted training for appearing in the recruitment process. Among them, three youths named Keshab Chetry of Uppar Laopani village, Binay Upadhaya of Hahkhati Nepali Gaon and Kiran Sharma of Laopani village were selected for recruitment.

The three youths were felicitated by the Army at the camp of the 7th Battalion of Madras Regiment at Rupai Siding on June 17. The officers of the regiment and the local scribes were present on the occasion.
