CRPF battalion celebrates 51st raising day

TEZPUR, April 2 - The 30 Battalion of CRPF celebrated its 51st raising day on April 1 at its Chardwar, Sonitpur-based battalion headquarters. The event was inaugurated by Dinesh Singh Chandel, Commandant, 30 Battalion of CRPF.

On the occasion, a grand mela was also organised, which was open to the local public, unit personnel, men and family members of the force.

In the evening, a cultural programme was held in which local artistes and a section of CRPF personnel mesmerised the audience with their presentations including different cultural programmes, folk dances, etc.

Addressing the gathering, Chandel dwelt at length on the glorious history of the unit and said such ethos should be upheld in future also. He congratulated all members of the unit and their families on the occasion.

The 30 Battalion of CRPF with its motto �excellence - our resolution� was raised on April 1, 1968. After giving valuable services in different parts of the country, the unit was established in Assam in 2009.

Apart from its contribution in maintaining law and order, the unit has always extended its helping hand in community development programmes, blood donation camps, medical camps, distribution and installation of solar lights, adoption of orphanages, etc.
