AGARTALA, Jan 30 - Promising a better Tripura, the CPI (M)-led Left Front government on Tuesday released its election manifesto for the ensuing Assembly elections scheduled to be held on February 18.

The 64-page manifesto has highlighted the continuous socio-economic development of the people in the state during the past 20 years although there was no specific promise to the people of the state, especially unemployed youths.

The Left Front government in Tripura has fulfilled its commitments towards the people during the last five years of its rule and now the party promises a better Tripura with development, said CPI (M) central committee member Goutam Das after releasing the manifesto.

The manifesto stressed on more developments and strengthening of Tripura and mentioned the improvement of all social-parameters of human development indices.

In the manifesto, the Left Front criticised the countrys prevailing situation under the Narendra Modi regime. The demonetization and GST have derailed the countrys normal pace of growth while price is on the rise causing trouble for the people, he said.

The Narendra Modi government has cheated the people of the country as it could not fulfill promises given to them during the 2014 general elections. While rich people like Ambani and Adani groups are becoming richer, poor people are struggling for survival, he said.

We are receiving massive response from the people and we hope that Left Front will win the elections with more seats and more votes, he added.
