CPI state meet from March 3

GUWAHATI, Feb 2 � The Communist Party of India (CPI) will hold its Assam State Conference on March 3-5 here.

Over 150 delegates from across the State will take part in the conference which will elect a new State Secretariat, State Executive and State Committee.

CPI State Secretariat member Dambaru Bora said that the State Conference will also elect delegates for the 22nd National Party Congress of the CPI which is slated for next month at Puducherry.

He said the conference will start with a public meeting on March 3 at the Assam Engineering Institute ground at Chandmari.

It will be followed by delegates� meet in the next two days where discussions on party affairs and strategies, besides the general political situation of the State, will be deliberated upon and action plan for the future prepared.

Finally there will be election of the new committees which will oversee the party�s affairs in Assam for the next three years. Bora added that the conferences of the CPI�s 20-odd district committees in Assam are currently going on.
