GUWAHATI, April 26 � The Assam State Council of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has vehemently opposed the statement of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on the migrants illegally entering Assam from Bangladesh.
In a statement, the party has stated that the statement of the Chief Minister made on April 23 on the issue has gone against the law of the land. Moreover, it has hampered the process of expulsion of the illegal migrants initiated as per the provisions of the Assam Accord, the party said.
The party has made an appeal to the people of the State to raise their voice against the above stand of the Chief Minister for the grater interest of the State.
