GUWAHATI, Nov 18 - From next week the COVID-19 test for incoming flight passengers will be done at the Guwahati airport itself instead of Sarusajai.
Currently, the passengers have to travel to Sarusajai after landing at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport for undergoing the tests.
In another relaxation, air passengers travelling within Assam and those travelling between northeastern states will no longer require mandatory COVID-19 testing.
The State�s positivity rate continues to be below one per cent.
Yesterday, 242 cases were detected out of 24,637 tests done in the State, with a positivity rate of 0.98 per cent.
The total caseload stood at 210,696 last night, but active cases have come down to 3,329.
Two patients had died yesterday and the death toll till Tuesday night was 966.
