Covid patient dies due to alleged negligence of hospital authorities

By Correspondent

TEZPUR, Aug 11 - The death of a COVID-19 patient at the Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) last night following the hospital authoritys alleged negligence has led to sharp reaction among the common people and other Covid patients admitted in the hospital.

Anup Tamuli (39), an employee of Phulbari Tea Estate in Rangapara town of Sonitpur, after being diagnosed with the pandemic through Rapid Antigen Test, was admitted in the TMCH.

However, a section of patients admitted in the Covid ward of the hospital alleged that the hospital authority didnt take proper care of the patient and provide the necessary treatment to him.

According to these patients, Anup Tamuli, who once fell from his bed in the hospital, was not even attended to by any doctor.

To protest the lackadaisical attitude of the doctors and the hospital authority, the COVID-19 patients later created an unwanted scene by staging their protest against the alleged mismanagement by the hospital authority.

The patients also alleged that the ward boys or the cleaners engaged in the hospital do not provide their services in the wards, making these wards unhygienic.
