COVID: Arunachal sees lowest single-day figure in 3 months

ITANAGAR, Nov 16 - Arunachal Pradesh recorded 20 new COVID-19 cases � the lowest single-day figure in the last three months when it had reported 26 cases on August 2 � taking the state�s case tally to 15,812.

Of the fresh infections, Itanagar Capital Complex and Upper Siang reported five each, Lower Dibang Valley four, Tawang three, West Kameng two and Longding one. The newly-infected patients include two healthcare workers and two military personnel, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services. Sixteen of the total cases were found asymptomatic and four symptomatic.

On the other hand, the state discharged 79 patients following their recovery from the aliment, which took the number of cured cases to 14,500, thereby pushing the recovery rate to 91.70 per cent. Itanagar Capital Complex released as many as 26 cured patients, followed by 22 in West Kameng.

Moreover, the state�s COVID-19 active cases further declined to 1,264, which accounts for 8.3 per cent of the total confirmed cases.

Itanagar Capital Complex has recorded the highest number of infections at 5,651 that include 780 active cases, 4,848 discharged and 23 fatalities, followed by West Kameng with 804 cases, including 76 active and 724 cured cases coupled with four deaths.

The state has so far tested 3,42,450 samples, including 522 on Sunday, as per the bulletin.
