DIMAPUR, July 25 - All those visiting the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat premises on July 30, including ministers, advisers, MLAs, officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat, will have to compulsorily undergo COVID-19 tests and carry the results along with them. A one-day session of the Assembly will be held on that day.

Nagaland Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer today said production of COVID-19 test results is a part of the plan to hold the Assembly session in strict adherence to the standard operating procedure and other precautionary measures.

The Speaker also directed the legislators to allow only their driver and one security guard to accompany them, except in the case of the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Leader of Opposition.

The Nagaland Assembly Secretariat, in consultation with the Civil Secretariat, has already made necessary arrangements for testing of everyone concerned.

An official release stated that samples of all the ministers, advisers, MLAs and their supporting staff who will accompany them to the Assembly, will be collected at the State Banquet Hall, Old Chief Ministers Bungalow in Kohima, from 12 noon to 4 pm on July 26.

The MLAs, officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat residing within the Assembly complex, including in the Legislators Home, and arriving at the Secretariat from different parts of the State, can provide their samples at the special facility within the Assembly complex.

The MLAs stationed in other parts of the State and their supporting staff accompanying them to the Assembly session, may get themselves tested at the designated facilities closer to their place of stay and carry the reports with them.

The release said the Civil Secretariat will make its own arrangements for the testing of administrative heads of departments and heads of departments assigned to attend the session, and the persons accompanying them.
