COVID-19 tally crosses 1,000-mark in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI, Aug 6 - The number of COVID-19 patients in Hailakandi district had crossed the 1,000-mark. The figure now stands at 1,141.

Health authorities disclosed that of the 43 new positive cases, 39 have been detected through the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

A total of 306 cases have been found positive under RAT so far, with majority of them without travel history.

A total of 21 persons on being cured were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of persons released to 867.

The number of active cases in Hailakandi district is currently 266.

As many as 35 persons are undergoing treatment at SK Roy designated COVID Civil Hospital, 18 at SMCH, 42 at Algapur Model COVID Hospital, 5 at HPC�s Hospital COVID Care Centre, 89 at Adarsha Vidyalaya COVID Care Centre, 47 at Model School Girls� Hostel COVID Care Centre, 28 at JNV COVID Care Centre, one under process and one under home isolation.

Only 26 persons are currently under facility quarantine centres while 6,422 under home quarantine. Of the 15,290 swab samples taken, 13,279 turned out to be negative. Swab results of 296 persons are awaited. Meanwhile, the administration has stepped up Rapid Antigen Tests in view of the rising cases of COVID-19.
