COVID-19 claims one more life in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Nov 3 - One more COVID-19 patient died in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday, taking the virus death toll in the State to 38. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally has climbed to 14,998 as 117 more people tested positive, a senior Health Department official said.

�A 72-year-old man hailing from Chisi village under Dari circle of Leparada district expired at the Dedicated COVID Hospital (DCH), Pasighat, at 3.27 am on Monday,� State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

�The patient, who was referred from the DCHC, Aalo, on October 29, died due to chronic bronchitis and age-related ailment with COVID-19 infection,� Dr Jampa said.

The Itanagar Capital Complex reported 34 of the latest cases, followed by East Siang (16), Lower Subansiri (12), Lower Dibang Valley (nine), Changlang (seven) and Tawang (six). Except 11, all the other cases have been found to be asymptomatic. On the other hand, 165 COVID-19 patients were discharged following their recovery, taking the total number of cured cases till date to 13,238.

Of the total recovered/discharged cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 109, followed by West Siang (18) and Changlang (11). The State at present has 1,722 active COVID-19 cases with 1,462 of them recuperating in home isolation and the rest in various COVID care centres.
