COVID-19 claims 7th life in Mizoram

AIZAWL, Dec 11 - An 83-year-old man died of COVID-19 in Mizoram today, which took the virus death toll in the State to seven.

An official source said MK Roy, a resident of Durtlang North here, died at the Zoram Medical College where he had been undergoing treatment since December 9 after testing positive for COVID-19.

The State�s virus tally today rose to 4,008 with the detection of 14 new cases during the last 24 hours. The new cases were detected after testing of 1,210 samples. Three cases each were detected at the TrueNat laboratories of district hospitals, six through rapid antigen tests and five at the RT-PCR laboratory of the Zoram Medical College.

Mizoram has currently 202 active cases, while 3,800 persons have already recovered from the disease.
