COVID-19 cases rise to 319 in Assam

GUWAHATI, May 23: As many as 53 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected on Saturday afternoon, taking the total number of cases to 319, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on social media.

A total of 44 cases were confirmed at the Sarusajai quarantine centre, while seven cases were confirmed in Dima Hasao district and two in Cachar, according to a tweet by the Health Minister, posted at 1.40 pm on Saturday.

Till the time of filing of this report, the total number of cases rose to 319. A total of 54 patients have recovered, while there are 258 active cases. Four persons have died in the state, while three have migrated to other states.
