COVID-19 cases reach 80 in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, June 4 - With the detection of 22 more returnees as COVID-19 positive in Nagaland today, the State�s tally has shot up to 80.

In his briefing, Nagaland Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha said all patients are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals. He said active surveillance is going on to prevent further spread of the infection.

Sinha said altogether 3,638 samples have been tested and the results of 2,130 samples have been received. Of these results, 80 samples have been confirmed positive. The results of 1,508 samples are awaited. A total of 101 samples have been tested through the TrueNat testing machine so far, and all are negative. At present, 4,642 persons are under facility quarantine, Sinha added. He said 37 stranded persons from Chhattisgarh and Odisha reached Nagaland by bus today.
