GUWAHATI, Dec 7 Entertaining the plea of the Central Bureau of Investigation, a Fast Track Court in Guwahati today issued a warrant seeking production of ULFA cadre Phatik Hatimota, an accused in the murder case of social activist Sanjoy Ghose.

The Court has asked the authorities of Jorhat Central Jail to facilitate Hatimotas production on December 19. The State Police has also been asked to provide escort in this connection.

Hatimotas, who was arrested by Jorhat Police and subsequently remanded to four days police custody on November 26, was remanded to judicial custody after his police remand period expired today.

Family members of Hatimota, it has been learnt, have contacted advocate Bijon Mahajan and his associates to appear on behalf of the accused in the court on December 19. Hatimota hails from Majuli.

A CBI inspector after arriving in Guwahati submitted a prayer before the fast track court seeking Hatimotas production in Guwahati after which the production warrant was issued," sources said.

The CBI had already filed charge-sheet in the Sanjoy Ghose murder case naming 11 ULFA militants as accused, which included elusive ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah.

Of the 11 accused, three had already been killed during encounter with security forces, while two were convicted in the year 2003 and are presently serving life-time imprisonment. The rest, including Paresh Baruah, have been declared absconders.

Sanjoy Ghose was abducted by ULFA militants in 1997 and was reportedly killed the day he was abducted.
