Cotton wins SBI Numero Yono quiz

GUWAHATI, March 2 - More than 300 college and university students participated in SBI Numero Yono � a mega quiz event for the youth � that was held at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre for Performing Arts at Machkhowa here. The team from Cotton University emerged the winner.

The contest held on Thursday was inaugurated by Cotton University Vice Chancellor Prof Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, in the presence of Digmanu Gupta, general manager (Network - II), Ajay Kumar Singh, general manager (Network-I) and Shekhar Srivastava, general manager (CAO) of State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle.

Billed as the biggest nationwide quiz contest, SBI�s Numero Yono is being conducted across 17 cities of India, including Guwahati, where SBI Local Head Offices are located.

The quiz was an endeavour of SBI to bring digital service platform Yono closer to India�s youth. Yono is an integrated all-in-one digital banking platform offered by SBI to enable users access a variety of financial and other services such as taxi booking, online shopping, investments in mutual funds, etc. At the end of the contest, prizes worth Rs 3.72 lakh were presented to the winners in the form of scholarships.

The winning team will participate in the grand finale to be conducted in Mumbai, where the final winner will be given an annual scholarship of up to Rs 5.85 lakh. All travel and stay expenses of the team will be borne by SBI.
