Cotton Alumni House inauguration on May 26

GUWAHATI, May 21 - The three-storey Cotton Alumni House, one of the ambitious projects of the Cotton College Alumni Association, is now complete. It has been built on a plot of two-katha land offered by the Cotton University behind the old CM Hostel, which is now known as the Swahid Mojammil Haque Hostel.

Jagadish Dutta, general secretary of the Association of the Past and Present Office Bearers of the Cotton College Union Society (APPOCUS) and coordinator of the Cotton College Alumni Association, said that the building will be inaugurated at a function scheduled for 11 am of May 26.

For the purpose of opening it, Chief Justice of India Justice Ranjan Gogoi, an alumnus of Cotton College, has been invited as the chief guest.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the building, an interactive session among ex-Cottonians will also be held at noon that day and it will continue till the afternoon hours.

Thereafter, a souvenir and two books would be released. This will be followed by an open session. In the evening, a cultural programme has also been planned, Dutta said and invited all the ex-Cottonians to the programmes.
