The copyright registration was obtained through the National Research Development Corporation under the Union Ministry of Science & Technology, after qualifying the protection and registration prerequisites.

The author and owner of the copyright is Mriganka Sarmah, assistant professor of Computer Science Engineering. LS Davar & Co of New Delhi has been authorised as a hiring partner to act on his behalf in connection with the work.

The idea of the work is to develop an app to translate English phrases into Assamese and vice versa. By developing this product, it will help foreign tourists communicate with the local people of Assam through Assamese language with ease.

The system will be available for download both for computers and smartphones.

The project work, carried out by ADTU for the people of the Assamese community staying in different parts of the country and across the globe, was sponsored by the Assam Association of North America.
