GUWAHATI, May 2 - In a murder that created a sensation at North Guwahati area, an APBN jawan Jogen Nath shot dead his wife Joba Devi with his service carbine in the wee hours today before killing himself with the same weapon.
The incident occurred when the couple together with their 11-year-old daughter was staying at Joba�s mother�s place at Madhyamkhanda in North Guwahati. Police said a marital discord could be the reason behind the shocking incident.
After the murder of Joba, police gheraoed the residence and asked Nath to surrender. Nath instead, killed himself with his carbine.
Earlier, Nath � who seemed to be mentally disturbed � had put flowers on the body of his wife after killing her.
