TURA, March 1 - A havildar of the Meghalaya Police was killed today while extracting a bullet stuck in the barrel of his gun here.
The incident happened when Havildar Mone Marak (in charge of armoury) was trying to extract a bullet from a 5.56 INSAS rifle along with another policeman, Jimberth M Marak, around 2 pm today. The bullet had got stuck inside the barrel during the annual firing practice at Goeragare (near Tura).
He was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries, the police said.
