Convergence meet of GMDA held

GUWAHATI, Mar 2 � A convergence meeting of distinguished citizens of Guwahati was held at the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) office here to discuss about the possible policy adaptation for a vibrant Guwahati.

Chairman of GMDA Dhiren Baruah informed that GMDA has been taking up various measures for the planned development of Guwahati and for solving its multifarious problems.

Chief Executive Officer of GMDA Anurag Singh briefed about the plans and programmes presently being implemented by GMDA.

Among the invited guests were Prof Deven Dutta, Krishna Baruah, Kailash Sarma, Satyen Doloi and others.

The participants agreed that the GMDA has to be given all requisite powers as envisaged under the GMDA Act 1985 and GMDA should be given full authority to execute the Master Plan for the city.
