Convention on ULFA problem at Nalbari

By Correspondent

NALBARI, Aug 12 In order to mount pressure to expedite the much awaited talks between the ULFA leadership and the State Government and create public opinion in favour of peace talks, the Nalbari district convention of the Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan will be held on August 22 at Nalbari Natya Mandir.

The chief convener of this convention, Ramani Barman, while addressing a press meet at Nalbari on Sunday, said that if ULFA and the State Government sit for negotiations on the basis of the resolutions adopted in the Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan, the talks would be a success. He added that there is no alternative to talks for the all-round development of the State and the initiative taken by Dr Hiren Gohain in this regard has brought a ray of hope.

He called upon the people of Nalbari to join hands for a solution to this dispute by attending the convention to be held from 10 am on August 22.
