Conttribution towards Assam Arogya Nidhi

JORHAT, April 7 - The Jorhat-based Ujani Asom Hajjatri Tadarak Committee on Monday contributed Rs one lakh to the Assam Arogya Nidhi to fight the novel coronavirus with a delegation of the committee handing over a cheque of the same amount to Jorhat Additional Deputy Commissioner Bipul Das at his office chamber.

Meanwhile, Sarla Devi Rathi, proprietor of Shakti Stores (AT Road, Jorhat) on Monday gave a cheque of Rs 51,000 to Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Roshni A Korati for the Jorhat Deputy Commissioner�s Covid-19 Relief Fund.

Recently, Jayanta Baruah, a social worker of Dohaborachuk locality here, donated Rs 50,000 to Jorhat Deputy Commissioner�s Covid-19 Relief Fund.

In the meantime, Jorhat Diocese of Believers Eastern Church on Monday handed over 600 food material kits to Jorhat Deputy Commissioner to be distributed among 600 needy families.

Each kit contained five kgs rice, one litre mustard oil, half kg daal and half kg salt.

Meanwhile, Marwari Yuva Manch, Jorhat, on Monday, distributed grocery items to poor families in and around Jorhat.

Ward Commissioner initiative: Former Ward Commissioner of Jorhat Municipal Board ward number 6 Ankur Gupta in the ongoing lockdown period has coordinated with the district administration in making available the mobile vegetable sale service, undertaking sanitisation drive in the houses, streets and commercial areas of the ward.

He also has volunteered in assiting in the distribution of LPG cylinders by mobile vehicles in areas under Ward number 6 of the JMB.
