DOOMDOOMA, Nov 23 - Rich tributes were paid to the former Principal of Doomdooma College, litterateur, journalist and philanthropist Robin Choudhury on his sixth death anniversary today. On this occasion, a special memorial meeting was organised by the Doomdooma Sakha Sahitya Sabha (DSSS ) at the DSSS Bhawan.
The meeting which was presided over by DSSS president Arjun Baruah began with the lighting of lamp and offering of floral tributes at the portrait of Robin Choudhury by retired principal of Doomdooma College Dr Prafulla Medhi. Addressing the meeting, Dr Prafulla Medhi recalled the contributions of Robin Choudhury to Doomdooma College and to the society of Doomdooma. Dr Deepak Mahanta , an assistant professor of Doomdooma College also recalled the contributions of Choudhury.
ACKS general secretary Girish Chandra Borpatra Gohain, retired Principal of Doomdooma College Dr Abdul Qadir, the daughter-in-law of Robin Choudhury and the headmistress of Jawahar Hindi High School Nirala Choudhury and Jagannath Chetia also addressed the meeting highlighting the various aspects of Robin Choudhury�s life and work.
Earlier, the DSSS secretary Deben Deka explained the objectives of the meeting. Mauchumi Patowari recited a self-composed poem in the meeting.
