Contributions of homoeopathic science highlighted

GUWAHATI, March 29 - Contributions of homoeopathic science in the field of medical research and services to humanity were highlighted by several speakers at a function held at Swahid Jadav Nath Homoeopathic College at Panjabari today.

A special publication � an Assamese translation of the monumental volume on homoeopathic science by Dr HC Allen by Dr Bilash Pegu, Principal of the college � was released by senior journalist DN Chakravartty.

Chakravartty recalled the contributions of eminent physicians of Assam, including Captain Dr Hem Baruah, Jatindranath Sarma Khound, Dr Lalit Baruah, Dr Ajit Baruah, Dr Bikash Baruah and Dr Bhringeswar Sarma in writing books and articles and educating the public besides informing doctors about the urgency of selfless service to the people.

Dr R Soni, in-charge of the Regional Homoeopathic Research Centre, spoke on the contributions of homoeopathic science in providing treatment to economically underprivileged people.

Dr D Bhattacharya, Deputy Director, AYUSH, Assam, said homoeo practitioners had, for a long time, been rendering selfless service to the poor all over the country.

Dr Chandraprabha Bhuyan, Dr Jayashree Debnath and Pratibha Bhuyan congratulated Dr Pegu on his initiative in bringing out a valuable translated work of homoeo science. Dr Pegu thanked the people for the support. Dr NK Mishra also spoke on the occasion.
