GUWAHATI, March 9 - A delegation of the Gauhati University Workmen�s Union (GUWU) handed over a cheque of Rs 45,000 towards the CM�s Relief Fund on Wednesday.

GUWU president Pradip Rajbongshi also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging the State government to look into the GU Amendment Act, 2013 (implementing it with 1:1.5 teacher:employee pattern ratio), and fill up nearly 500 budgeted posts lying vacant in GU against a total of 1,350 sanctioned posts. He also called for review of the Act for the sake of hundreds of unemployed youths of the State.
