Contribution of nurses towards healthcare hailed

GUWAHATI, May 14 - Marwari Hospitals celebrated International Nurses Day in sync with the theme of the day this year � �Nursing, the balance of mind, body and spirit� � on Sunday.

On the occasion, awards were presented to Poilang Lyngdoh, Minakshi Rabha, Premila Singh, Rojini Devi, Meghali Talukdar and Minati Devi as the best nurses in different categories.

The chief guest, Ranjumoni Borah Deka, matron of B Borooah Cancer Institute, appreciated the contributions and dedication of all the nurses towards healthcare services. Medical Superintendent Dr AK Kalita, quoting the lines of Florence Nightingale � �My mind is absorbed with the thoughts of suffering of man. I can hardly see anything else� � said that by following all protocols and rules of nursing, it would always bring a positive impact on healthcare and quality nursing care.

Hospital Superintendent Rohit Upadhayay stressed the importance of nurses� responsibilities that can bring in drastic changes in the mindset of patients.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Sister Parineeta Paul.
