Contests on creative dance, modern song held

DOOMDOOMA, Sept 3 - Synchronising with its 15th biennial conference, the Tinsukia District Committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has been organising various cultural contests among the budding talents at various places across the district to give them a platform to showcase their talents.

As part of it, a creative dance and modern song contest was organised by the Digboi Regional Committee of AJYCP in collaboration with Margherita and Pengeree-Bordumsa Regional Committees at India Club of Digboi on Saturday and Sunday. Over 50 participants took part in the contest. The winners of this contest are eligible to participate in the main contest to be held at Doomdooma Town Field during the three-day-long 15th bi-ennial conference of the Tinsukia District Committee of AJYCP from October 18.

On Sunday afternoon, the prize distribution programme of the contest was held with Surajit Moran, president of the Tinsukia District Committee of AJYCP in the chair. Former president of Tinsukia District Journalists� Association Anuj Kalita, former secretary Manoranjan Das, Digboi Press Club president Ramani Burhagohain, journalists Manoj Baruah, Rantu Neog and several others attended the programme as guests of honour and distributed prizes among the winners.
