DIPHU, Oct 6 - The constitution of Karbi Adorbar was officially released at the office of Karbi Riso Adorbar here today.
Before the release function, at 9 am, homage was paid to the statues of late Sing Teron and late Semson Sing Engti, located near Diphu Medical College.
Homage was also paid by the dignitaries to the departed leaders of Karbi Ador at the �Memorial Column� on the premises of Karbi Riso Adorbar Central Committee office.
Later, a mass open meeting was held under the presidentship of Ajit Timung, president of Karbi Adorbar.
The constitution of Karbi Adorbar was officially inaugurated by Timung in association with the dignitaries and leaders who took part in the programme.
It may be mentioned here that Karbi Adorbar was established on May 3, 1940, to unite the scattered Karbi people and fulfil the long expectation of the Karbis for creating their homeland under the name �United Mikir and North Cachar Hills District�.
