GANGTOK, May 17 (PTI) - An Indo-Tibetan Border Police constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Raj Bhawan here, police said today.
The 23-year-old constable, a resident of Jharkhand, shot himself dead with his self-loading rifle at the guard room in the Governor's house, they said.
According to sources, the constable belonging to 13th battalion of the ITBP was suffering from depression.
Both police and ITBP is probing into the case.
The ITBP is in charge of security at the Raj Bhawan.
