Conspiracy against me: Gohain

By A Correspondent

NAGAON, March 23 - Union Minister of State for Railway, Rajen Gohain today here in Nagaon expressed his disappointment over the party leadership and said that the party should not have bid him farewell in such a way. Gohain after arriving at his home town from New Delhi interacted with some mediapersons here and said that the party leadership had assured him of giving the party ticket to his wife this time instead of him in Nagaon parliamentary constituency. But the party has almost finalised someone else instead of her.

Indicating a huge discontent among party workers of the district, Gohain reiterated that such a decision of the party leadership usually would harass most of his hardcore supporters and party workers of the district. I have no reply in hand for them in this regard, Gohain said. He said that a political conspiracy against him began just after the entrance of some newcomers to the party, which was rarely faced by him earlier in his more than two decade-long political career.

Gohain stated that he led the party at most of the crucial junctures adding that if he had not or had failed to hold the party together, it would have scattered. Yet I continued to serve the party for long, he added.
