By Correspondent

DIPHU, March 22 Internal bickerings in the Karbi Anglong Congress camp have been continuing since a few months back.

It may be mentioned here that a serious allegation of non-implementation of government schemes was levelled against Bidya Sing Engleng, MLA of Diphu constituency by the Congress workers and leaders of Lumbajong block here on Saturday.

Holding a press meet at the Diphu Press Club, the Congress leaders of Diphu Lumbajong block charged Bidya Sing Engleng of failing to address the grievances of the public under the Diphu Legislative Assembly constituency for the last 14 years. The Lumbajong PCC Congress leaders Semson Ronghang, Gobin Terang and Chandra Tokbi alleged that against Bidya Sing Engleng has not implemented various government schemes designed for the people. The Congress leaders termed Bidya Sing Engleng as an inactive leader. The party has been losing ground and popularity in Diphu due to inactivity and failure to address problems by Engleng, they said.

They further alleged that the people of Diphu constituency are facing various difficulties like poor road communication and drinking water etc. No single road has been constructed under the Mukhyamantrir Pakipath Nirman Achani (MPMA) in Diphu constituency. There has been no development activity under his MLAD fund in Diphu constituency, the Lumbajong PCC Congress leaders alleged. They declared that they will oppose tooth and nail if the high command gives ticket to Engleng for the next Assembly election.

This is not the first time that allegations have been levelled against senior Congress leaders by a section of their own party men in Karbi Anglong. It may be said that the internal conflict and in the Congress is affecting the party seriously. As a result, many senior, active leaders and workers have started joining the other national political party in Karbi Anglong district.
