Congress Rafael politics is an international conspiracy: Tripura CM

By STAFF Correspondent

SHILLONG, Dec 17 - The Rafael politics is being played by the Congress as a part of larger international conspiracy to derail Indias rapid progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a press conference here today, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said: the Rafael politics is an international conspiracy that the Congress president Rahul Gandhi is playing.

Asked which country or International agency are involved in this conspiracy, Deb said: Rahul Gandhi must himself answer this question who all are behind this conspiracy. He said the Congress tried to mislead the country before the Supreme Court gave a clean chit to the Rafael deal. The Tripura CM said that due to this Congress politics the morale of the Defence forces has been hit and National security compromised.

He said that after the Supreme Court verdict the Congress is now demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). The Congress is not willing to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court. Is the Gandhi family bigger than the Supreme Court or the country, Deb asked.

Rejecting the Congress demand for a JPC, Deb said if Rahul Gandhi has any evidence of wrongdoing about the deal he should approach the Supreme Court or best still he can present it in the ongoing Parliament session.

Instead, the Congress is not allowing a discussion on the Rafael deal in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Nothing can be bigger than the Parliament which is the biggest platform where everything can be discussed and brought forward and people can see for themselves live, Deb said.

Suggesting that politics should be issue-based not for any other cause and definitely not at the cost of the countrys integrity, Deb called Rahul Gandhi immature and childish.

These are all being done for short-term political gain. First the Congress asked for the Supreme Court, now JPC, then they will seek UN intervention.
