By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Sept 9 - Blowing the election bugle, the Congress in Nagaland said its main objective is to remove BJP and its allies like NPF from the State and safeguard the Article 371 A of the Constitution of India which guaranteed rights and privileges of Naga people.

Addressing a meeting at Congress Bhavan in Kohima yesterday, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie said due to saffron partys intention to implement Uniform Civil Code, Article 371(A) is under threat.

The Congress also alleged that a group of habitual defectors are running the Government without a party with the sole objective to loot the public in the State in connivance with the BJP.

He also slammed former Congress legislators who had joined the Naga Peoples Front (NPF) stating that they have no principle.

According to Therie, BJP has successfully destroyed the NPF party with the objective to grab power in the State. The Congress vowed not to allow BJP/RSS to have their hold in the State.

NPCC general secretary Jonathan said BJP has succeeded in destroying the NPF in Nagaland and added that the Congress has become the only party which can stop the onslaught of Hindu rightwing party BJP.

Also, asking former Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu to realise from the recent development where BJP had abandoned him, Therie urged him to work for expulsion of BJP from the State.

Castigating the NPF-led DAN Government for alleged corruption, the Congress president called upon the people to join the Congress to secure Nagaland from the clutches of corruption.

BJP has declared war against Christians and regional parties are helping them, the Congress president alleged. We have to save Nagaland for our future generation, he said.
